What is Bulk Update?
Bulk update lets AI work through many items in one run instead of one at a time. It covers products, collections, pages and blog posts. You choose which items, what AI writes, and whether you review the results or let Seokai save them. It is useful right after you install Seokai or after adding a large batch of new products.
How It Works
Step 1: Choose the items
Open Bulk update from the Seokai menu. Under What to improve, pick Products, Collections, Pages or Blog posts. Then choose which ones:
- Products that need work (recommended): items scoring under 80
- Never optimized: items Seokai hasn't touched yet
- All products: every item, including ones that already score well
Items that already pass every check are skipped at no charge.
Step 2: Choose what AI writes
Under What should AI write?, tick any of:
- Search appearance: page title, meta description and focus keyword
- Title and description: for products and collections, AI improves the description and keeps your name unless it is empty. For pages and blog posts, it rewrites both the title and the description.
- Alt text: images without alt text
- FAQ: 3 to 5 questions and answers per item
Step 3: Choose what happens next
Under Then what?, pick how the results are saved. For up to 250 items:
- Let me review first (recommended): suggestions wait for you in the SEO list, and nothing changes until you save
- Save automatically: changes go live as they are written, and you can undo each one from its history
For more than 250 items, the choices are Save automatically or Review a sample first. With a sample, Seokai writes 20 items for you to check, then offers to save the rest automatically the same way.
Step 4: Start the run
The card on the right shows how many items are included, about how many credits the run needs, how long it should take, and your balance. Click Start bulk update.
If your credits don't cover everything, you can do the items that matter most now, or queue the whole run. A queued run continues automatically when your credits renew or when you add more. If the selection goes over your plan's monthly product limit, Bulk update works on the first items by priority.
Step 5: Follow the results
The run happens in the background, so you can keep using the app. If you turn on the bulk update email in Settings, you get an email when it finishes.
- With Let me review first, open the SEO list and go through the items under Ready to review. Click Save and next to keep a suggestion or Discard to skip it.
- With Save automatically, you can undo a single item from its history, or undo the whole run.
Suggestions that would lower an item's score are dropped. Past runs lists earlier runs with their date, size and status.
Requirements
Bulk update is available on Growth and higher plans. It uses the same per-item credit costs as improving items one at a time, and products count toward your plan's monthly limit of optimized products.
