What does Seokai do inside Shopify Sidekick?

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Seokai ships read-only tools into Shopify Sidekick, so you can ask about your store's SEO without leaving the admin conversation.

Two things Sidekick can pull from Seokai:

  • A store-wide SEO audit summary — the overall health of your store's metadata.
  • A "what needs work" list — the specific products, collections, pages, and articles missing metadata, each linking back to the item in Shopify admin.

The reason this is useful is scope. Sidekick is good at working on the item in front of it, and it will happily write SEO fields for a single page on its own. What it cannot do is tell you which 300 products across your catalog are missing meta descriptions, because it has no store-wide view of your SEO. That summary is what Seokai adds.

What it does not do: you cannot run a Seokai optimization from Sidekick. The tools are read-only, so Sidekick can show you what needs attention and link you to it, but the optimization itself happens in the Seokai app.
